China Carbon Black Institute (CCBI) was established in 1965. It is the sole R & D and engineering design facility of carbon black industry and the base of manufacturing specialty carbon black in china. CCBI has over 500 staff and workers, 50% of which are technicians, including a lot of well-known carbon black expects. It has been recognized by China government as the Carbon Black Technical Development Center, Carbon Black engineering development center, the convening unit for standardization of carbon black and light color reinforcing material (such as silica), national center for carbon black quality inspection as well as scientific and technical information center and training center of carbon black industry.
CCBI has achieved over 100 items of R & D project related to carbon black, 32 of which have respectively awarded with scientific and technical achievement (progress) Prizes by the State, Ministry or Provincial government, and 15 items of which have been applied for patents. The carbon black technologies developed by CCBI are widely used in carbon black plant, covered over 85% total carbon black capacity in china, and are also exporting to other countries.
